Initially, when I booked this wedding, I had no idea that I knew the bride. In fact, I didn't realize that I knew her, until I was shooting pictures of her getting ready in the bridal room and the MOTHER of the bride walked in and I recognized her IMMEDIATELY as one of my Young Women leaders from over 15 years ago...and one of my FAVORITE leaders. It was then that I realized that this beautiful bride was actually the LITTLE GIRL that I used to babysit! CRAZY how time flies. And tell me...is Nicole not one of the most BEAUTIFUL brides you have ever seen? Breathtaking. SUCH a beautiful girl!!
What fun it was to reconnect with this wonderful family on Nicole's special day. And what a BEAUTIFUL wedding it was. Both the wedding ceremony and reception took place at the WESTERN GARDENS ATRIUM. I didn't even know Western Gardens (a garden center) HAD an atrium. And it was...BEAUTIFUL. With this crazy Utah weather (it's almost May, and it's SNOWING today), you never know what you're going to get. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and it was a PERFECT spring day. YAY!
The best part of shooting this beautiful wedding, was shooting it with my best friend. It was the first time I have shot a wedding with a "shadow shooter"...and I tell you what...IT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME! SUCH a great benefit to have another shooter with you. It was so nice for us to be on OPPOSITE sides of everything to get different perspectives of the entire wedding. He was also able to get some PRICELESS candids while I was shooting the posed family shots...which I couldn't do at the same time, even if I tried. Such a blessing to have had him there shooting with me. And it makes it even more fun that he happens to be my best friend. Love that! Between the two of us, we came up with a BAZILLION great shots of this AWESOME AWESOME wedding. Obviously, I can't post them all, but thought that I would post a few of my personal faves as a SNEAK PEEK for the Oliphant/Bullock fam, until they have a chance to review all of the proofs and choose the images that THEY would like me to edit.
These cute newlyweds were so fun to photograph...and even MORE fun when it involved their precious little girl. OH, she is a doll. I think I took about 87 million pics just of her. LOL! So love these precious shots of Mama with her baby girl.
I can't you enough just how much fun this shoot was. The Oliphant and Bullock families were SO great to work with, Erik (the groom) was SO patient and awesome and Nicole was SUCH a beautiful and gracious bride. And as for the location...it was breathtaking. I loved every minute of it....I almost feel guilty calling it "work." ;-) Man, I love what I do!!
What an honor to have been asked to be the photographer for this memorable day. And what an even greater blessing to have found out that it was for a family that I love so much. What a beautiful new little family. We had such a great time shooting at this wedding and I am so pleased with how the pictures turned out. I hope that the Bullock family is as happy with these few proofs as I am. Many thanks to Julie and Nicole (and sweet Myrna, who referred me) for asking me to be your photographer. It was so wonderful to see you again. I will have a proofing CD ready for you within the next few days and will look forward to seeing what YOUR favorites are. Thanks again for your business..and your friendship. Sure love you!
