What fun it has been to hear my little angel singing songs non-stop from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" the past few months, as she has been practicing for the Kindergarten operetta that she performed in this past week. Out of the MANY children in multiple Kindergarten classes, my little Seneca was chosen to be one of the Seven Dwarfs in the operetta...Bashful, to be precise. How appropriate a role, for my sweet (and often shy at first meeting) little angel baby.
Love the classic picture above of my sweet little dwarf, smiling and waving as she finally was able to pick out Oma, Opa, Jeff & Kaden in the middle of the HUGE crowd that was there to see the performance. And what an amazing performance it was. I am so impressed with this school and these amazing teachers. I've never even heard of a KINDERGARTEN operetta...and this was above and beyond anything I would have imagined. The set, the costumes and all of the props were handmade (and PROFESSIONALLY done, might I add) and donated to the school by parents. These Kindergarten teachers put HOURS of planning and preparation into this production...and it showed. Below are pictures of my sweet little dwarf, sitting on her dwarf bed and behind her dwarf chair and posing with the beautiful flowers from Oma & Opa and chocolate rose and balloon from Mama.
Seneca has been talking about this operetta literally for MONTHS and was so excited, not only to finally be able to perform, but to see that she had such a loving group of family there to support her. She was so excited to see that Oma and Opa had both made time to come and see her perform (and had brought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers).
Days before her performance, Seneca had also asked me if Jeff was going to be there as well. When I asked her if she wanted me to invite him, she responded with an enthusiastic "YES!" Her face lit up when I told her soon after, that he had said he would be there. :-)
After the performance, Jeff went and picked up pizza for the four of us. After he arrived, and we were all sitting on the couch watching a movie and enjoying our dinner, Seneca came up and whispered in my ear, "How do I tell Jeff 'thank you' for coming to my operetta?" So sweet. Love her so much. She was so grateful that he had come, which I am certain made Jeff feel loved and appreciated....and made my OWN heart almost burst. What joy it brings to my heart, seeing how comfortable my kids are with Jeff, and not only LIKE it when he is around.....but WANT him to be there. :-)
How proud I am of BOTH of my babies.....and how especially proud I was of my beautiful angel on this night when she truly SHINED as the most BEAUTIFUL BASHFUL I have ever seen!!!
