Since I would be spending the day AFTER Father's Day celebrating my own sweet father (pics and blog entry coming soon), a few of my girlfriends decided that we would honor 4 special fathers that we knew would not be able to spend Father's Day with their little ones. Sherri, Jess, Deanna and I cooked a fabulous Father's Day dinner of roast, potatoes, rolls, corn, veggies and desserts for these 4 special Dads...our dear friends....Michael, Grant, Frank & Don. These four guys are so amazing and we are so blessed to call them our friends. What an HONOR it was to HONOR them on their special day. (I have SO much to tell you about this amazing group of friends that God has blessed my life with. A blog entry dedicated SOLELY to this group of friends is coming VERY VERY SOON!)
After dinner, two of our guys (and Sherri...helping SLIGHTLY..LOL) carried one of her couches down into the living room so that we could ALL squeeze together for a fabulous FATHER'S DAY MOVIE NIGHT! And what was the Feature Presentation? "FATHER OF THE BRIDE," of course! LOVE that movie!!
We had SUCH an amazing night together (SO many laughs...LOVE US)...and made SURE that our guys knew how much we loved and appreciated them...and did our best to PAMPER them on their special day. What a blessing to be able to spend the evening with four wonderful fathers...and RIDICULOUSLY fun friends!
So you're probably wondering why this entry is called "FIVE Special Fathers" when we only had 4 fathers for dinner that evening. :-) Earlier that day (while my little ones were with their Daddy) I was able to attend church with another amazing father who wasn't able to be with his kids during the day on Father's Day....my dear friend who I have been dating as of late (not exclusively, but dating nonetheless...).
What a gentleman to always get my door...and a good sport, to stand out in the pouring rain and pose for these pictures. LOL! (I'm so thrilled that I caught the picture just below with him biting his lip. LOL..that sounds so funny, but he always does that when he REALLY looks at me..and I love it... SO happy that I caught it on "film.")
What a great Father's Day I had....spending the morning getting my kids ready to spend the day with their Daddy, attending church with this good friend and amazing father (and awesome grandfather..lol..but we won't go into that) and the rest of the evening and night with 4 other wonderful fathers and a group of friends that have weasled their way right into my heart. SO blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful friends. LOVED this day!
