Man...time flies. I didn't realize I had already let days slip by again without blogging. Truth is, not much has happened the past few days. I started reading "These Is My Words" about a month ago. I read 14 pages, had a hard time getting into it and set it aside. I picked it up again on Saturday.....and haven't been able to put it down since. This is hands DOWN one of the best books I have ever read. I literally am hooked. I almost don't want to finish it....because then, it will be OVER! I LOVE IT! I was just looking up the book on Amazon so I could link it for you and noticed that there is a sequel. Has anyone out there read Sarah's Quilt? Is it worth reading? I don't want to read it if it's not as good. Anyway...that's where I've been...and haven't been doing much else. That's what happens when I get in to a good book. LOL!
Kaden finally earned 6 stars at preschool (I do a star chart with Kaden's preschool teacher to help his behavior in class. Each time he earns 6 stars, he gets a different "prize") and was able to get his "prize" of going to see a movie with daddy. He decided to see "Ice Age The Meltdown Show" (that's what he calls it) and had been excited all week. They went on Saturday and went to a theater here where you can buy lunch and eat it in the theater on cool trays that fit into the cup holders. He had so much fun! I read somewhere once that you should always reward your children with "time" instead of treats and "things." That's why I decided that one of his "prizes" would be time with his daddy.
Made fruit pizza yesterday for dinner at mom and dad's after General Conference. I have tried a bunch of different fruit pizzas, but I must admit that I am pretty partial to mine. And it's simple....Pillsbury cookie dough on a pizza pan, cooked for 18-20 minutes at the degrees specified on the package, covered with Cool Whip and covered with fruit....strawberries, kiwi, raspberries and blueberries. I've had it with bananas, etc. etc. etc., but I don't think ANY are as tasty as this one with the kiwi and berries. This is hands down one of my very favorite desserts...and there isn't even any chocolate on it. LOL! TRY IT! You will LOVE it!
And in closing...have you tried these?
OMGOSH......HEAVEN in a box. Found these last week in the check out line at Target. We had these over in Germany and until now I hadn't found any as good. They are a complete rip off, but worth every bite! LOL! Check 'em out!
More to come when I finish this book. At this rate...won't be long! It's AWESOME!

I gotta read that book. Maybe I'll choose it for book club next year. I already have my book for next month picked out (it's my turn), but I'd love to try this one next time around (unless someone else picks it first!!). How fun for Kaden and Daddy to go to a movie together. Must have been to Jordan Commons?? Ted's favorite theater because of the food and the cool trays. LOL Definitely time is a much better reward! I need to come up with something like that for my kids too! Love the fruit pizza. It looks divine!! Making my mouth start to water here. LOL I could tell you'd been shopping at Target by the choxie box. I've never dared tried those things yet, but now I'll have to snag a box the next time I'm there!!

I love books. It doesn't matter how busy my days are... I find time everyday to read. It is the last thing I do before I go to bed every night. If I do read during the day...not much else will get done. I get so involved with a book that I can't put it down, and then when I am finished.. I am sad that it is over LOl!
We saw Iceage 2 this weekend for Jason's birthday party! I am glad to hear that they had a good time. Your pizza looks great.

Wow, that sounds like a great book! I will have to check it out. I love a good book! Makes me happy!
It sounds like Kaden and Chas had a good night out. Chris will do this with our kids every now and then, and they will always bring it up as one of their good times. So cute! Glad to hear that you are doing this. Having the kids spend time with their daddy is important!
The fruit pizza looks so yummy!! Next time we have a girls' night out, we have to make this. Oh, and your yummy salsa!! Oh, sounds so good now!!

Thanks for the good book recommendation! I read the reviews over at Amazon, and it sounds like a book that I'd love! I LOVE reading, and I miss the days where I'd read a few books a week...as a kid! I need to watch less tv and read more. Anyway, I will definitely be reading this book!
Love that Chas and Kaden did the guys day out at the movies!! I 100% agree that time is a much better reward than things or food!!! I'm glad they had a good time together, and that movie theater sounds very cool!! Wish we had something like that here for the kids!
Your fruit pizza looks yummy!! I've never seen anything like that before. I love the big fruit torts that some people get instead of cake, though. I wonder if this is anything like that?

Don't you just love Target! They seem to have it all. Your fruit pizza looks great - we'll have to give it a try.

If I had one complaint about reading, it is that when I'm involved in a book I find I just DON'T want to do anything else! But things like laundry and dinner just WILL intrude. Glad you are enjoying your book and I wish I had a piece of that pizza just about NOW!

I love the packaging on those Choxie's as much as the chocolate itself! Such fun colors and designs!
